Future Meetings
Please check back often to see updates on future public hearing dates and locations as they are confirmed.

Public Hearings (Spring 2008)
Once the Draft EIS (DEIS) is released in 2008, a 45-day public comment period will follow. Public hearings—three within the study area—will offer the public an opportunity to review the environmental impacts and the proposed conceptual design of each alternative. Citizens will be invited and encouraged to comment on elements of the DEIS and on the alternatives under consideration. At the end of the public hearing process and after review of the public comments received, a preferred alternative will be selected.

Past Meetings

Alternatives Development Meetings
Held:  November 2004
During the Alternatives Development Meetings, the study team presented to the public draft rail service and alignment/rail location alternatives that address higher speed passenger rail transportation needs within the study area. The alternatives and evaluation criteria were developed from input received from citizens and local agency representatives during the spring 2004 Scoping and Citizen Information Meetings.

Scoping and Citizen Information Meetings
Held:  March 2004
The project team held an Agency Meeting and a series of four Citizen Information Meetings in March 2004. Meetings were held to kick off the project and to present preliminary findings and information to the public and agencies. The project was presented to more than 250 citizens and agency representatives. The information gathered from citizens and agencies at the time helped form the basis of the project.
